The Lake of the Returned Sword - Hanoi
The Lake of the Restored Sword (Ho Hoan Kiem, or Ho Guom), at the very center of Hanoi. These precious images were captured by Dr. Hocquard during 1884-1885.
Bao An Pagoda
When the French took over Hanoi in the late 19th century, the Bao An Pagoda was demolished to build the City Post Office. Only a replica of this front tower can still be seen today.
